Peer Review Policy
The Journal of the Artificial Intelligence Engineers Consortium (JAIEC) adheres to a rigorous peer review process to ensure the publication of high-quality, original research in the field of artificial intelligence engineering. Our peer review policy is designed to maintain the integrity, credibility, and transparency of the publication process, and to uphold the highest standards of scholarly research. Below is an outline of our peer review policy:
1. Peer Review Process
-
Double-Blind Peer Review: JAIEC follows a double-blind peer review process, where both the identities of the authors and the reviewers are kept confidential. This ensures unbiased evaluation based solely on the quality of the manuscript.
-
Initial Screening: All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial screening by the editorial team to ensure that they meet the journal's scope, formatting guidelines, and quality standards. Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be returned to the authors for revision or rejected outright.
-
Reviewer Selection: Qualified and expert reviewers are selected based on their expertise in the subject area of the manuscript. Reviewers are invited from a global pool of professionals, including academics, industry experts, and researchers in artificial intelligence and related fields.
-
Reviewer's Responsibilities: Reviewers are expected to assess the manuscript for originality, methodological soundness, clarity, relevance to the field, and the significance of the research findings. They are also required to identify any potential ethical concerns, conflicts of interest, or plagiarism.
-
Reviewer's Independence: Reviewers must provide unbiased and constructive feedback and are required to disclose any conflicts of interest. Reviewers who have a conflict of interest with the manuscript will be recused from reviewing it.
2. Review Criteria
-
Originality: The manuscript must present original, innovative ideas or novel applications in the field of artificial intelligence engineering.
-
Methodology: The methods and techniques used in the study should be robust, reproducible, and appropriate for the research question.
-
Results and Analysis: The results should be clearly presented, with thorough analysis and interpretation. The findings should be statistically valid and contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the field.
-
Ethical Considerations: The manuscript must adhere to ethical standards in research, including the proper handling of data, the involvement of human or animal subjects (if applicable), and the responsible reporting of results.
-
Clarity and Structure: The manuscript should be well-written, logically structured, and free from language errors. The presentation of figures, tables, and references should follow the journal's guidelines.
3. Confidentiality
-
The peer review process is conducted in strict confidentiality. Reviewers and editors must not disclose or discuss any aspects of the manuscript or the review process with anyone outside the editorial team.
-
Authors are not informed of the identities of the reviewers, and reviewers are unaware of the authors’ identities, ensuring an impartial evaluation.
4. Decision-Making
-
After receiving the reviewers' feedback, the editorial team will make one of the following decisions:
-
Accept: The manuscript is accepted without changes or with minor revisions.
-
Minor Revision: The manuscript requires some revisions that can be handled by the authors without further peer review.
-
Major Revision: The manuscript requires substantial revisions and may need to undergo a second round of peer review.
-
Reject: The manuscript is not suitable for publication in JAIEC due to insufficient quality, relevance, or failure to meet the journal's standards.
-
-
Authors are expected to respond to reviewers’ comments and submit a revised manuscript with a point-by-point reply to the reviewers’ suggestions and criticisms.
5. Transparency and Feedback
-
Authors are provided with the reviewers' comments and the final decision regarding their manuscript. Detailed feedback is provided to authors to help them improve their work.
-
In the case of rejection, authors are informed about the reasons for the decision, and if applicable, suggestions for improving the manuscript for submission to other journals may be provided.
6. Ethical Guidelines
-
JAIEC adheres to the ethical guidelines set forth by international academic organizations, including the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE).
-
Any instances of plagiarism, data falsification, or other forms of scientific misconduct will result in immediate rejection of the manuscript and may be reported to the relevant authorities.
7. Conflict of Interest
-
All authors, reviewers, and editors are required to disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could influence the review process. A conflict of interest exists if there is any financial, personal, or professional relationship that could bias the reviewer’s or author’s work.
-
Authors are required to declare any funding sources or affiliations that might be perceived as a conflict of interest.
8. Publication Ethics
-
JAIEC is committed to upholding ethical publishing standards and ensuring that all published works are free from bias, plagiarism, and other unethical practices.
-
The journal follows the COPE Code of Conduct and best practices in scientific publishing, with a commitment to promoting responsible research and publication practices.
