Abstract

Nanomaterials have revolutionized the field of mechanical engineering by offering exceptional mechanical, thermal, and tribological properties. Their unique characteristics at the nanoscale enable enhancements in strength, durability, and performance of mechanical components. This paper explores the role of nanomaterials such as carbon nanotubes (CNTs), graphene, and nanocomposites in improving mechanical properties like hardness, wear resistance, and fatigue life. The study further discusses fabrication techniques, applications, and challenges associated with nanomaterial integration in mechanical systems. Experimental results and recent advances in the field are summarized, highlighting the potential for sustainable and high-performance mechanical engineering solutions.
