Advanced Control Systems for Electric Vehicles
Main Article Content
Abstract
The increasing demand for sustainable transportation has propelled the development of electric vehicles (EVs) globally. Central to the efficiency and performance of EVs are advanced control systems that optimize energy consumption, enhance battery management, and improve vehicle dynamics. This paper reviews state-of-the-art control strategies for electric vehicles, focusing on motor control, battery management systems (BMS), regenerative braking, and energy management. It further explores emerging technologies such as model predictive control (MPC) and artificial intelligence (AI)-based controllers. Simulation results and experimental validations highlight the performance improvements achievable through these advanced controls. The challenges and future research directions in the context of the Pakistani automotive industry and infrastructure are also discussed.
